Before the gentle explosion of premium raw denim resulted in the increased popularity of many Japanese (many dealing with reproductions of vintage cuts) brands, Evisu was a name synonymous with premium denim. As they continue forward into their 2007 Spring/Summer line, the Heritage line brings with them a legacy of good quality Evisu denim. Although those preferring less eccentric denim through the form of more subtle branding may look elsewhere, fans of the daicock can rest assured that this Levi’s-esque reminder of Evisu’s roots are still very much represented. Don’t forget to check the collection pictures after the jump!
The three sub-collections of the Heritage Collection shown here include:
Umi Yama, a very bright and graphic line. Here the daicock will evoke many metamorphical changes to represent the lush Japanese Ocean and Moutain Scenery. The jeans are definitely very bright, and possess a new spiral cut to created a layered, loose fit. The shirts are availabe in muted colors of cream, brown, white and blue to contrast with the bright graphics of sea and mountain imagery.
Teiban is a colorful selection of vintage cut jeans. Washes include dark blue, bright blue, and gold. The Daicock is very prolific and involves many different colors including bright pink, orange, green, cream and blue.
The Heritage Ladies collection is very elegant and feminine this season. Red being the signature color. The jacket features a fitted look that’s nipped at the waist and has kimono-style flaring. Jeans include straight leg, boot cuts as well as a 3/4 length crop.
Agnes B. have brought together Shep Fairey (Obey) and WK Interact for a visual confrontation. Based on the principals of emulation and collaboration, this art show will provide a running dialouge between Obey and WK Interact via means such as two-handed drawing, cadavre exquis and graphic ping pong.
The show will begin March 22nd at the Tokyo Wonder Art site and run for one month before it migrates to Agnes B.’s Galerie du Jour for a one and a half month tenure (May 16th-June 30th). Something people must consider of Obey and WK Interact (or any well known graffiti artist), is that fame in the urban jungle is derived from the ability to consistently relay a message throughout a stimuli-rich environment. Their works slice through numerous images and signs we are subjected to day in and day out. The foundation of their success can also be credited to characteristics and techniques exclusive to themselves that are easily identifiable. Their goals are to overshadow the almost insurmountable adverting that one simply cannot escape.
Touching on goals, the propagandist art of Obey & WK Interact are useless without elicitation of the viewer. Their art should illicit questioning and reasoning. Make the cog-wheels within our mind stop time for just that split second and think… “What? Why?…How?”.
The East/West Propaganda Project draws reference to the geographic location of Shep Fairey (West Coast) and WK Interact (East) as well as drawing parallels with the venue locations of Paris (West) and Tokyo (East).

For the last 10 years, Colette has maintained a strong relationship with art as shown by it’s impressive exhibit resume. Arkitip have dedicated their upcoming issue to this ongoing theme of art that Collette has maintained over the years. Colette commissioned over 90 different artists to create reflectionary pieces on the year in passing. With all proceeds going to the WWF.
For most people, a trip to Paris is realistically is out of the question, so Arkitip have instilled it upon themselves to create a world wide extension of Colette’s latest art exhibit via their magazine. However, with this great deed comes great difficulty in choosing the best works to show case to the world.
This is a one of a kind Arkitip edition, with one of a kind boutique, Colette. Enjoy…

Day Dream Film Works recently released a little trailer to their upcoming documentary on Air Jordans and the hardcore heads that have been driven to collect and acquire all things Jordan since first witnessing Jordan on the court. For many of us, we all stumbled upon Jordan at different time frames in his career dependent on our age and when we grew up. Some of us have been there since the start, circa’ 1985 Slam Dunk Competition and the infamous I’s, others came along later for you could always put Jordan and enchantment together the first time you watched him play.

Last year, Devilock joined forces with Subcrew and Clot to produce a crazy 8-pack of trucker hats. This year, Devilock and Subcrew are at it again creating a brand new 9 panel quasi-trucker hat. The back portion isn’t all mesh like traditional trucker hats, and the mesh is reserved for the top parts of the hat. A total of 8 different colors are used for the paneling of the hats.
