The artist Neckface has always been a man of mystery. No one knows what he looks like and he rarely does any interviews. Hyde Sacha Knight for Stussy

Hyde Sacha Knight for Stussy

Hyde SK (Hyde Sacha Knight) has recently created a collection of new products for Stussy. Included in these line up include a hoodie, handbags, and a wallet. Hyde SK’s has previously been known for her line of handmade leather goods as well as creating hand made bags for Paul Smith’s men’s show in Paris. Her works frequently result in large line ups in Japan where her items have reached a highly collectible status. Sacha notes that many of her inspirations are derived from Native American Culture, particularly Shamanism. Her interests include Skulls, Vietnam camouflage, Classic American Bands, Tim Burton, Gothic Art, Hell’s Angels, Pirates, Aubrey Beardsley, The Occult, Nature, Old buildings, and Wide Open Spaces. Hyde SK’s personal feelings regarding her design have “… a twisted American Indian feel (hand-finishing, beadwork and raw natural edges) with hints of the ‘classic’ (soft/simple silhouettes) and then a dusting of hippy 70’s America (unusual juxtaposed colour combinations, braiding and tassels)”. As you examine this collection, without a doubt you can see some eerie feelings with the use of skulls, spiderwebs. As well the tassels induce a distinctly Native American feel. As more and more women’s independent labels arise, through the strength and design of influential designers such as Hyde SK, women’s “streetwear” is setting themselves up for a glorious future. Women’s streetwear may choose to follow it’s own path as opposed to the one set forth and beaten by the male segment.

Air Jordan Spiz'ike - White/Grey/Fire Red

Air Jordan Spiz'ike - White/Grey/Fire Red

Not many sneakers that Michael Jordan HASN’T worn on the court has escalated to the same success as the Air Jordan Spiz’ike (and the B’Loyal which is huge on the selling charts). But as long as they continue to sell, Jordan Brand will give the people what they want. It seems as though there has been a progression in colorways. Originally, many differing opinions existed with the white/red/green colorway, but slowly but surely each colorway has gotten progressively better reviews, and I don’t think these are any exception.
