One of the upcoming Nike Dunk High and Low SB set come from a interesting concept and inspiration. Here are photos of the Maneki Neko inspired Dunk set, Maneki Neko literally the Beckoning Cat is also known as the Lucky Cat, Money Cat or Welcoming Cat. It is a common Japanese sculputure made of ceramic and is believed to give good luck to it’s owner. It is put in stores, restaurants, businesses and more to help attract business, which after all means money. The high is done in a white with black, gold and orange colorway and says “feeling lucky?” on the tongue, where as the low is a cream, gold and orange colorway and says “get that money” on the tongue. No release date information at this moment, so be sure to check back for more info.

Puma has been working with Japanese fashion designer Mihara Yasuhiro for quite some time now and here is their latest work. They have two different collections completed and each collection takes inspiration from different elements that makes each unique. First is the ROCK ON S/S 07 collection, Mihara takes inspiration from Heavy Metal and incorporates it to make the MY-25 Metallic Gold High Top Boots and the MY-24 Metal Trainer. Both shoes are done in shinning colors and have tons of elements mixed with great detailing. The second collection is called OOPARTS which stands for Out of Place Artefacts and is also for S/S 07. The concept behind this collection came from a story about a well-known archeologist, who made a discovery and found what looked like a modern day sneaker embedded in an ancient rock, this sneaker was very similar to a sport shoe we wear today. Mihara took this idea and created this collection with the MY-1 Peace, MY-9 Love, MY-25, and a Carry All bag.
