Earlier this year at the Nike Air Force 1 25th Anniversary party in New York, guests were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite Air Force 1 of all-time. After the dust had settled, this Air Force 1 Hi designed by artist Stash came out on top as the crowd favorite. Each guest in attendance was gifted a re-released pair of this sneaker.

In 1993, Girl Skateboards was born when fellow skaters Mike Carroll and Rick Howard felt they had the right answers for a skateboard company. Their goal was to create products that the team would be proud to wear day in and day out as well as keep a positive environment conducive to success. This risk turned out to be a great reward. However six years later in 1999, the fledging duo took another step and filled a void in the skate footwear world with Lakai. The end result was a roster of shoes which embodied their "The Shoes We Skate" mantra.
A look at the 2007 Holiday Collection provides a glimpse of what Lakai has created for their latest collection. Within the releases, you will find some interesting concepts. The Strike Force Pack takes inspiration from within the World War fighter plane era. The Telford and Coda (an all new model) have been given a military inspired theme with the use of some interesting designs. Lakai also teamed up with the creative outlet The Quiet Life to produce a collaborative pair of Belmonts and MJ Selects which enabled The Quiet Life to display their creative direction. Other models previewed here included a collaboration with Blueprint Skateboards for skater Danny Brady with an all weather MJ-3 rounding out the styles. Check your local Lakai stockists as these should be available at shops soon.

One of Nike’s latest projects was the release of the Tech Pack. The Tech Pack embodied Nike’s mentality to continually innovate and push the boundaries. The Tech Pack featured more casual styles with the backing of their high-tech processes. All of the patchwork seen on this M65 was created seamless and allowed Nike to flex their technical prowess with their ultrasonic welding methods and taped back construction. The jacket itself also features minimal stitching. The finished product is an extremely functional 3 layer laminate jacket which has both waterproof and breathability qualities. This jacket is currently slated as only a friends and family exclusive.

As part of skate label DC Shoes’ ongoing Double Label project, they have created an interesting product by enlisting the help of a fellow sneaker brand in JB Classics to design a special package of shoes and products. The finished product utilized the imagery from tree rings to symbolize the project. Custom laser etching can be seen as a tribute to the growth rings of trees. The soles also include a growth ring tread. The accompanying t-shirts and New Eras will be based off the same theme.
Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS fashion label has just opened their third GUERRILLA STORE in Poland’s capital Warsaw. COMME des GARÇONS’ popularity can largely be rooted in their avant grade designs. Their GUERRILA STORE concept involves the opening of a store for a period of 1 year with a minimal renovation budget. The location for this latest endeavor was a former fruit store in a Stalinist era building. The GUERRILLA STORE is currently open for business.

After much delay and confusion, the Nike Transformers Pack has begun to hit select stores. Original suggestions had pegged the Air Trainer III (the first model originally seen) as being scrapped due to conflicts in licensing. Furthermore these claims were dismissed and that a Summer release was to come which never materialized. For fans of Transformers and Nike their time has finally come with the release of this pack which includes the Air Trainer III, Air Max 90 Boot and Air Trainer Huarache. The "Voice of a Generation" Collection from Neighborhood for the 2007 Fall/Winter has been well received as of late with the help of their new online presence coupled with their edgy designs. Their latest releases include the L.Y.S. L/S tees, Tracker jacket and P-SEABEE jacket. Available now at Cliffedge.
American artist KAWS has teamed up with Japanese fashion label COMME des GARÇONS to create a series of wallets. These wallets utilize the popular CdG zip style wallet together with the familiar styles of Kaws. This collaboration includes more than just wallets and will also feature clothing, bags and fragrances. These items are set to debut on November 15th. Available now at Colette.
Japanese label MACKDADDY has just dropped a series of pieces as part of their 2007 Fall/Winter Collection. The releases include a series of colorfully designed accessories such as bags, wallets and fanny packs. This year also represents the 10th Anniversary of MACKDADDY. Available now at Eproze.
adidas has paid tribute to legendary DJ of Run DMC with the upcoming release of this Ultrastar Jam Master Jay pack. The simple colorways each share the same tongue print with understated colors at the base of each design. Available late November exclusively at Footaction. Also be on the look out for the JAM Awards on November 29th, a benefit concert in regards to the social responsibility of Hip-Hop.
