Artist James Jarvis was recently in Beijing for an exhibition held by Chinese sportswear company Li Ning. China’s capital played host to a series of influential artists such as Jarvis and Kaws as a jump off to the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games. Here’s a time lapse shot of Jarvis in his element. New York based sneaker boutique David Z. has pushed forward on the success of its previous David Z. x Asics Gel Lyte III’s to release another collaboration under the name Solid Gold and Stainless Steel Collection. These sneakers were created by the mastermind behind previous Asics and David Z. collaborations, Ronnie Fieg. The veteran sneaker designer created these in commemoration of David Z.’s 25th Anniversary.
Keeping consistent with previous collaborations and using the Asics Gel Lyte III model, the two contrasting colorways each tell a different story. Stainless Steel is a tribute to the 25 years that David Z. has carried out as an independent sneaker boutique in New York. While Solid Gold was created as an inspiration brought forth by David Z’s status as a high end luxury sneaker boutique in the heart of Soho. 200 pairs of each colorway are set to release during Christmas, while 50 pairs will be allocated online at David Z..

Influential men’s contemporary fashion designer Raf Simons has teamed up with backpack makers Eastpak to create a series of bags as part of Raf Simons’ 2008 Spring/Summer "Material World" Collection. Originally plying their trade as a bag maker to the military, Eastpak branched out to the consumer in 1976 and now has become a household name in the bag market. This latest collaboration includes a variety of contemporary designs which embodies Raf Simons’ design aesthetic.

The premium CLOT Royale line recently released a series of scarves and boxers. Both items are elegantly designed with high quality silk with their special CLOT pattern. The scarf was created to ensure warmth perhaps not usually associated with a material such as silk. The boxers on the other hand includes a hidden pocket for the placement of a condom. Both items will release at Hong Kong’s Juice on November 1st. The scarf is available in yellow and blue while the boxers can be had in black and blue. Prices are set at $350 HKD (approximately $45 USD) and $480 HKD (approximately $62 USD) respectively for the scarf and boxer.
To start off the month of November, BBC | Ice Cream is set to release a series of items as part of their 2007 Fall/Winter Collection. This release includes the Ice Cream Girl tee (by Japanese artist Rockin’ Jelly Bean and his signature design), BBC Gold Foil Astronaut Crewneck and a huge over-sized all-leather BBC Dollars & Diamonds Backpack. These items will be available at the BBC | Ice Cream store in Hong Kong on November 3rd.
