Aesop Rock x Jeremy Fish: "The Next Best Thing"

Aesop Rock x Jeremy Fish: "The Next Best Thing"

Acclaimed San Francisco artist Jeremy Fish, also known in the sneaker community for his collaboration with Nike SB for his version of the Nike Air Classic SB, has teamed up with Def Jux Artist Aesop Rock to create a “children’s book that’s not for kids.” Upper Playground is proud to present: “The Next Best Thing”, a short story about the creative process by Aesop Rock and Jeremy Fish. This 24 page book comes with a 7 inch picture disk that coincides with each page of the book (ie: old school style kid’s books with records for those born pre 1979!). Jeremy Fish and Aesop Rock were brought together by a common infatuation with themarvel-of-modern-science known as the “one-cup coffee maker.” They soon learned that two creative types can do an extraordinary amount of complaining regarding their respective involvement in “the arts” over a properly constructed patty melt. Indeed, within minutes, optimistic almost-young gentlemen can morph into jaded, bickering, grumpy old men. Continue reading for more images and info about this project.
