While this is somewhat true, it's the emotion of falling in love, not actual love. You know it's the real deal when you find a girl that you are compatible enough with, to stay together for a long time after the initial chemical response passes. 
I don't believe in "the one" because there is so many people out there, that you can for sure be equally happy with someone else. 

tl;dr there is no higher powers involved, but there will obviously be certain females that you click with near perfectly.
