Real winners were the 76ers. Philly looks good in the near future. Holiday, Turner and Bynum are a good set of players to build around.

Nuggets won too. They have a lot of talent and depth especially now with Iggy. Plus they clear cap getting rid of Harrington's corpse. People are foolin themselves if they think the Lakers got a lot better from going from the most offensively gifted big to the most defensively gifted big. Acquiring Steve Nash will have a greater impact than swapping centers. Magic management should hang themselves after this trade.

Probably unrealistic but I always thought the Magic should have tried to trade Howard to the Clippers for Griffin. Clippers get a better player to contend in the playoffs while the Magic get an explosive but overrated player to still bring the crowds in. Win for both sides given each teams circumstances.

Lakers still need a SF and have absolutely no bench. So what if they upgraded from the 2nd best center to the best center. On paper they still don't match up well at all with OKC. Nash well get exposed and abused by Westbrook.

If lakers want to go to the finals, they need more help defensively than offensively. with nash, kobe, gasol, the lakers will score no matter what. they need more toughness and consistency on defense. howard is the answer. bynum will still be the second best but on this lakers team, howard will do much more to affect the outcome of the game. it's a huge upgrade my nig.

The key is that lakers did not have to sacrifice gasol. with a full season to get shit clicking, things are looking good

Smh at y'all thinking LA only traded to get an upgrade.. They made the move because they didn't know if Bynum would re-sign or not (he probably wouldn't have) and guess what, if this didn't go through, Pau would have been playing the 5 in 2014 (God forbid). Also keep in mind Bynum was a problem guy on the court, he could be the best post, but he mentally just doesn't have the discipline. But instead, they still have one of the best (if not the best) centers with them who probably will re-sign.

@melvinj23 On paper OKC are constructed to upset the Lakers. Perkins was brought in to limit the effectiveness of guys like Gasol/Bynum and now Howard. Perkins even has a track record of limiting Howards play dating back to 2009 when Perkins was still a Celtic. Ibaka is another defender used to limit the Lakers bigs. Nobody on the Lakers matches up well with Durant. Nobody matches up well with Westbrook. Nobody matches up well with Harden off the bench. Look at the stat lines from the 2012 series. The offense of OKC flows through those 3. The Lakers have done nothing to stop or even limit the play of those 3. Bench depth also favors the Thunder. Lakers better hope that the Thunder can't defend the pick and roll.
