Nigga a History major is completely useless unless you plan on becoming a teacher afterwards.

Teachers also get tons of holidays off, summers off and only work like 6 hours a day. Plus its hard to get fired since they belong to a union.

It's really sad to say, but the state of the economy, it's not very practical to "study what you like", or whats "interesting".

You could go to a community college and get a lab tech degree, and have a more stable job than going to a top school and majoring in some major like Marine Biology.

Then again.. getting a job with only any bachelors degree is really hard, so prepare on getting a master or going to grad school.

I dunno, my cousin got a pretty good job without a BA, he just went hard at getting internships and getting to know the people in those businesses.

He worked hard and they referred him to other companies.

He told me straight up "If you know the right people, experience, talent, and degrees don't matter"

But im sure that only works for certain work fields. Can't creep into an engineering job like that.

^ It applies to all fields, even engineering too. I got buddies that graduate with mech or chem engineering and having a tough time finding a job, because they didn't participate in enough internships and projects experience.

That's a central argument that many people have.

Whats more important to an employer?
Experience or education?

Through my experience, I think that being well rounded, and having experience > education/grades.

We have one of the biggest hospitals in New England in my city and you can actually get a job as a lab technician there with only a high school diploma.

Or you can drop out of college and get on that blue collar grind like me. I work with a few electricians who pull over 100g's a year.
