Starting a New Line/Brand Feedback Thread

Mar 13, 2013 @ 01:07
Davy JaysIdk for some reason im really feeling this shit , good work
thanks man. much appreciated. anyone else have feedback?
on the whole line in general or just these two tees. let me know what you think
think these two pieces are good designs on its own, the tees you have are great too. I personally don't like the Division tee though 'cause Joy Division and Ramones don't really cross imo smh

Well i got back to work and finished up the logo for Pharaohs

Thoughts ?
I think this is better than the Young Kings or KNGS.
IMO though, should take the advice given to you earlier and do a bit more research or take some time. Idk if it's just me but you asking HB opinion on every single change you make makes you come off as insecure or indecisive. It also makes you look like you're only catering to what the people want and not really paying attention to what you want or find comfortable in.
I can see the effort though, so there's a start.

Sounds more like you are looking at the current trends and trying to create a brand bout them rather then creating a brand they will create it's own trend.
Kings, Acronyms, Pharaohs, Indians are all current trends. You don't want to make a brand from a trend because by time you have a solid idea that shit will be over and so will your brand.
To be honest and frank I don't think you are ready or even really serious about this. Take MORE time. Create designs first then come up with a name an logo. Don't create a logo first cause then you'll be  locked in with it and it may limit some of your designs.

Natural Talent Clothing (NTc.) is here to inspire people to find what they are talented at then chase there dreams, remember that no matter what age you are you can make your dreams a reality. We belive that Natural Talent is something that everyone is born with, but something you have to work on and develop, something you have to nuture in order for it to grow into a career or a life style. We hope you find your Natural Talent and grow with us over the years.

The Cardinal (RVA's state bird) is designed to pay homage to our Richmond roots. Cardinals can bring color and vitality into our lives.
Their crimson color can remind us of the importance of ourselves as individuals in the circle of life. As the cardinal red color is symbolic of faith, so it can remind us to "keep the faith" though circumstances might look bleak, dark and hopeless.

The 2 Face design is more than just a eye catching design. The top represents a child: ambitious, unreserved and ready to take on the world with his dreams. The bottom represents an Old head intelligent and wise, after experiencing life understanding past mistakes and letting his experiences shape who he's become. We feel as though the 2 face represents where we are now.

leaf logo incorporated within the Aztec details on the back. The Leaf is also placed on the left side of the chest to represent that talent is where your heart is. The combination of the eye catching color and the detail design makes this a piece that you must have to welcome in brighter more unique color with the changing weather.

Please Give feed back and feel free to buy anything you like before they are all sold out!!!

Yeah you dissected that pretty well, i feel like im jumping from trend to trend, when i look back at everything from Kings to Indians, i see what your saying, i'll just slow down for a bit and think hard of a unique name and if i can draw a logo for it, if not i just might go with just the name

Hey man if you've come up with all these "logos" in such a short amount of time you really can't be doing it right. Have you even figured out what shirts you want to print on? Tags or no tags? How you want to have a shop? How you're even going to run your business? Your target market? How you're going to market your brand? Have you found a screen printer? How many pieces you want to run? Designs? How you're going to spread word about your brand and what can you do to get it out there? There are so many more concerns right out of the gate then having a logo. As you can see...well scratch that never mind, but you should figure out that the good companies that start out do things a certain way that work. Having a solid business model and being able to answer these questions (just a few of the basic ones you should ask yourself) will help you figure out if you really want to do this. I get it, you want to start something and be involved in the industry, but please do your research and don't rely on what people say here. HB is a very small percentage of people who can give feedback/really like your stuff. You'll find that some brands excel on here while others just have a presence but they push and work harder on other networking sites. Oh and lastly stay the fuck away from whatever is trending and come up with something solid and nice that can have longevity and not fade away as the trends do.

The warp on this is a serious eye sore. The shape is just awkward, try some different variations to make it more legible.

I always tell every one who is just starting out to check out this book http://www.amazon.com/Streetwear-Insiders-Guide-Steven-Vogel/dp/B003A02RQW. It will give you background info on pretty much every brand that ever has mattered. Reading it will help guide your path.

LOGO FIRST

LOGO FIRST

LOGO FIRST

There is no real play book on how to start a successful brand but Logo first.
If you drop all those shirts at once without having a solid recongition for your brand and logo people won't know where those other designs came from.
You don't have anything in the design that points them were to go. My thought is save those and brand first. You don't want dead inventory when just starting off. Just my opinion

You're just not meant for it b, I've refrained from commenting cuz I didn't want to be an ass but everything you've come up is all too rushed.

You don't just come up with a brand name after a day of thinking... It's a manifestation of the idea your brand is based around. It usually takes time and good ones just pop in your head.

You are forcing everything, that's why the designs are shit. It seems like you are just trying to make a brand in order to make money. That's not why you should start a clothing line, especially now.

I've seen other people say a few of the same things before but I don't think it really landed.

And for all you other new brands, this thread isn't meant to hold your hand and help you with 50% of making the brand and to help you with 50% of your design work. And you shouldn't really want people in this thread to help with that anyways since the majority here are new brands as well... it's just the blind leading the blind..

Come up with your own brand basis, designs, make your shit and then give a good presentation of what you have. You'll get better feedback that way anyway instead of posting shit designs over and over.
