The Get Down is a new Netflix series set in the summer of 1977, where New York City is broken down. It focuses on a group of South Bronx teenagers who are trying to survive and make it in the city. The Baz Luhrmann-helmed show is a musical drama, and stars the likes of Shameik Moore, Jaden Smith and Giancarlo Eposito. While there isn’t much to glean from the trailer above, you won’t have to wait long for the series to debut as it drops on Netflix August 12.
