This past week, J. Cole followed through on a promise he had made to a fan two years ago by attending her high school graduation. The fan’s name is Cierra Bosarge, who first attempted to contact Cole in 2013 when she asked Q Deezy of Hot 108.9 in Philadelphia to relay a request for a birthday wish from her idol. Although it wasn’t delivered on time, the Dreamville rapper did manage to call her a few months later and wished her a belated happy birthday. During the call, the MC expressed interest in meeting her the next time he was in town. When the happenstance that the two did meet, Bosarge presented a letter to Cole which was kept in her pocket for years. In it, the young teen had asked him to attend her graduation in place of her biological parents, who were prison-frequent drug addicts that would not be available. Deeply impacted by the letter, Cole decided to reach out to Bosarge through Twitter and promised to attend her graduation, on the condition that she be accepted into a college. Thankfully the requirement was satisfied, and Cole proudly accompanied Bosarge as she received her high school diploma. Take a look at the heartwarming images here.
