By now we should all be aware that Kanye West is never afraid to state what’s on his mind, in particular when it comes to fashion. Recently, Mr. West expressed concern that 3D printing would eventually ruin the fashion industry during a visit to the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in Armenia. Despite his appreciation for some innovative technologies he stated, “This is what I’m afraid of here, 3D printing, because the internet destroyed the music industry and now this is what we’re afraid of right now with the textile industry.” He continues ”What I’m saying is there will come a time where its, like, people are making shoes at home.” What do you guys think? Will the increased availability of 3D printers eventually lead to more counterfeit and knockoff products in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
