Yohji Yamamoto‘s street appropriated Y-3 label took on New York Fashion week to release the 2014 spring edition of its ready-to-wear series, extending vibrant patterns and sleek silhouettes to both women’s and menswear collections. Marking more than 10 years of partnership with adidas, the Y-3 collection was noted by Yamamoto himself to promise “more excitement,” with bold creative statements such as geometric twists on the adidas three stripe signature textured with tonal layering. Maintaining a minimalist appeal with a palette of black, white and grey upon structured silhouettes, the series opened with a bold fusion of blues, purples, and greens that were the product of Y-3′s collaboration with acclaimed graphic artist Peter Saville.
