The Richard Chai Love collection for Spring/Summer 2014 once again showcased the label’s ability to embrace formidable amounts of elegance while keeping a well-sanctioned level of masculinity. Many will notice the collaborative work in this collection’s outerwear, in which Chai took the seat of creative design consultant in working on the range of leather jackets from New York luxury label, Andrew Marc. Inspired by various shapes and lines, the designer looked for specific placement and associations to form a soft and fluid unification. Full with sportswear sensibilities, the collection captures the energy of New York City and yet, at the same time, due to the soft hues and simple color palette, a less jarring city was portrayed — perfect in reflecting parts of NY during the summertime.
