With this year’s Made In America concert series kicking off next weekend in Philadelphia, Ron Howard announced his Jay Z documentary – which was shot during last year’s inaugural MIA show – will premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film itself is not only about Hov’s rise to stardom and his efforts in putting the Budweiser-sponsored festival together, but it is also a love letter of sorts to the City of Brotherly Love. Interludes include one-on-one interviews with random concert goers about what the show means to the community, while Howard also attempts to explore the birthplace of American independence and how it relates to Jay Z’s event. The acclaimed director even took some time to follow a local hip-hop group as it attempts to get added to the bill of acts. The screening of Made In America is scheduled for Saturday, September 7 with ticket information available via TIFF’s website.
