Based in the Pacific Northwest, POW WOW Hawaii-affiliated public mural project Forest for the Trees

Based in the Pacific Northwest, POW WOW Hawaii-affiliated public mural project Forest for the Trees is intended “to broaden appreciation for the creativity that surrounds us” and “to eliminate the boundary between artist and viewer” – achievements realized by inviting artists from across the globe to come and collaborate with a local artist for an entire week while sharing their creative process with the community of Portland, Oregon as the outdoor works pop up throughout the city. Ahead of this year’s dates later this August, the Forest for the Trees team has collaborated with variety of brands to bring forth an exclusive collection of apparel, footwear and accessories. Featuring everything from special edition Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars – emblazoned with the art of Sam Rodriguez and Gage Hamilton – and to a custom-scented candle from Maak Soap Lab and a leather key fob from Tanner Goods, the collection also features a Band-designed cap from Ebbets Field Flannels, a striped crewneck from Portland-based clothing brand Bridge & Burn – featuring the artwork of Hamilton - and a set of leather coasters from Tanner Goods and contemporary artist Michael Salter. A further contribution from Hamilton comes in the form of a “THE FUTURE WILL BE HAIRY” bow tie created alongside Portland-based accessories label Harding & Wilson, which is handmade and inspired by the early 20th century. The entirety of the special edition collection is now available online while Forest for the Trees is set to hit Portland August 19 through August 25.
