Damien Hirst & Alexander McQueen Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Skull Scarf

Originally introduced by the universally acclaimed designer in 2003, Alexander McQueen‘s signature scull scarves have reached iconic status in just a decade’s time. As such, the late designer’s eponymous label tapped celebrated British artist Damien Hirst for a range of brand new designs to celebrate the piece’s 10th anniversary. The result is a 30-piece collection inspired by Hirst’s own Entomology series as a kaleidoscope of skulls, insects, butterflies and more don each silk square. Coinciding with a release is a beautiful short film from photographer Sølve Sundsbø, which appears below. Retailing for about $515 USD each, the special 30-piece collection is due to be available from McQueen’s online scarf boutique beginning this Friday, November 15. A full look at the collaborative scarves is also available online ahead of the release.
