Damien Hirst, one of the most famous Young British Artists, has collaborated with Product (RED) on a series of t-shirts, featuring artworks from the Sotheby's auction. The tees feature images of various artists, such as Hirst and Jeff Koons, on the front and the signature of its respective artist on the back below the Product (RED) logo. These are definitely worth checking out since the tees feature signature prints such as Hirst's LSD polka dot, and all proceeds will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Turberculosis, and Malaria. We reported about the collaboration among Hirst, Warhol, and Levi's at Fred Segal in Los Angeles, now we're showing you the collector's book that will be released along with the line. The book will demonstrate the process of creating the collection and the various people involved. Death is a central theme of the book, appropriate for both artists, showing dark and ominous pictures of knives and skulls. The book showcases Hirst's signature spot paintings and his famous diamond-studded skull, For the Love of God. The book also has an interview with Damien Hirst and fashion photographs done by Beau Roulette feature Vincent Gallo. Yesterday on Valentines Day, Sotheby's auction house hosted a Valentine's Day (AUCTION) RED auction which sold artwork from some of the most popular artist of today to bidders that had big pockets. The Damien Hirst x Banksy painting titled "Keep it Spotless" originally estimated at $250,000 - $350,000 fetched an amazing $1,870,000 USD. Another of Hirst's paintings called "Where There’s a Will There’s a Way" skyrocketed to $7,150,000 USD. Pretty amazing consider that the US is heading towards a recession. Source: Supertouch
