It looks as though it were torn straight from the pages of Popular Mechanics 25 years in the future, but the Y-3 Nomad Racer from designer Yohji Yamamoto for adidas is very real, and coming for Fall/Winter 2012. The blue and burgundy “sneaker” (rocket boot?) utilizes a space-age blend of heat-trapping fabrics and abstract design inspirations that would make any one of the Jetsons writhe with jealousy.
