Know for its ultra-modern design, Mugler recently showcased its ready-to-wear collection for Fall/Winter 2012. With last season drawing inspiration from Greek mythology, Creative Director Nicola Formichetti visited a marine base citing his belief that military uniforms are the root of formal menswear – the suit and tux – providing a theatrical presence in fashion. Placing a large emphasis on custom-tailoring for its arrangement, the label presents a series of unorthodox cuts, tonal suiting and a-line capes. Materials arrive in a range of plasticized and rubberized cottons, wools and neoprene textiles. A collection that seems to provide armor-like, body transforming outfits for the undercover superhero, Mugler’s military-inspired arrangement is well-fitted for any civilian.
