Google criticised by record labels for failing to tackle illegal downloading

The never-ending battle between record labels and online platforms continues to take place, as most recently, Google falls victim to attacks. Having previously promised to crack down on illegal downloading, it appears that many labels within the industry feel that the powerful company has not done enough to tackle the efforts. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry has even gone on to say that they think Google is profiting from some of the frowned upon activities. Google has yet to respond to the accusations and negative comments and simply referred to the slandering a “press stunt.”
