Kitsune 2011 Fall/Winter “Brokeback Mountain” Collection

January 28, 2011Styleby Staff53 Views

Kitsune integrate an interesting inspiration for their Fall/Winter 2011 collection titled and based off of the Ang Lee film, Brokeback Mountain. Despite a somewhat sensitive theme, the collection itself beyond the inspiration and title could be construed as that of a “refined urban cowboy,” with some definitive workwear pieces you’d find on a ranch in addition to well-tailored pieces suitable for the city.

Really…a complete reworking of Levi’s..really tired of these brands just copying complete outfits from levi’s and other denim brands and presenting them as if they have invented the wheel. There are more tahn 30 brands that have this look (all well made and all “inspired” by Levis. I can find all this stuff at Gap, Levi’s ,urban outfitters, Flying A, and a vintage store…this is not a new collection.its someones closet!

I was about to post the exact same comment. First thing that comes to mind when reading “brokeback mountain” is GAY. Not that it’s a bad thing or anything…just sayin’.

This looks like a bunch of Levis and vintage thrift store western wear. With the exception of a few wool jackets, you can get all these clothes at a Goodwill in cow country.

The weirdest source of inspiration for a MEN’S collection I’ve EVER seen. By Far.

Neither are people who spell incorrectly and purposely use numbers when spelling out words.

no I’m not saying I wouldn’t think twice, but they’re definitely not persuading me very well. If i were them I would have picked a more universal name is all I’m saying. Might turn some people off.

Fantastic line. As for the name, it’s not like Brokeback Mountain is written all over the clothes.

To be honest it doesn’t really matter if your straight or gay, if it’s a nice collection and the pieces are well constructed then why would you have to think twice about rockin’ pieces just because of it’s title?
