The launch of GREATS ushered in a new consumer model in the footwear industry when it first launched in summer of 2013. Taking a similar concept to what had previously been successful in other arenas, GREATS rapidly gained traction in a finicky market. By going direct-to-consumer, GREATS has been able to offer high-quality footwear -- not unlike other luxury footwear labels -- but at reduced costs. Approximately a year after launching the brand, GREATS was able to secure $1.5 million USD in funding to help ramp up their efforts through new models while marketing efforts included a partnership with menswear style icon, Nick Wooster.
