Nicola Formichetti has provided the creative vision for an extensive list of names in the fashion industry, being part of many memorable projects over the span of his career. Perhaps best known for his role providing art direction for Lady Gaga over the span of five years and two different albums, Formichetti also held terms at Mugler and Uniqlo before Diesel turned to the Italian-Japanese designer and tapped him for their newly founded artistic director position. Mixing and matching pieces from Diesel’s archives, Formichetti’s introduced his presence at the brand in 2013 by curating Diesel Tribute – a choice of limited edition remakes from past collections as a taste of things to come before preparing for a full launch in 2014.
