Tonite x Paul Smith Japan "Robinstein Frankencrusoe" Collection

At the request of Paul Smith’s Japanese line, graphically liberal clothing brand Tonite was asked to create a collection of pieces for the famed British designer. The theme of the collection, “Robinstein Frankencrusoe” is a relationship of two fictional characters, Robinson Crusoe and Frankenstein. In story which plays out like the following, the exiled Frankenstein makes his way onto a boat in hopes of a new life only to be ship wrecked on an island with the sole inhabitant being Robinson Crusoe. Together their friendship manifests itself in the Robinstein Frankencrusoe collection with a surf meets punk style. This capsule is slated only for a Paul Smith Japan release, however some pieces will make it to the Paul Smith at Borough Market retail outlet in London.

We’ve been waiting for quite a while for this sneaker. Here is the new Vans SK8-HI LX which is supposedly inspired by the British fashion designer, Paul Smith. This sneaker which has a predominately brown colorway has the playful Paul Smith inspired stripe pattern on the inner lining as well as the tag. Available now at Flauge for 12,600 Yen.

Vans previously created a collection of shoe with hi fashion designer Marc Jacobs and now it looks like Vans will be working with the leading British designer, Paul Smith for a collection of sneakers. Seen here are the Sk8 Hi and the Chukka which both utilizes Paul Smith’s signature pattern. Rumor has it that there will be other models included in this series including a Slip On and the Era. The design theme behind each piece could be likened to the creation of highly technical outerwear with a mix of maturity and class. Essentially, the pieces utilize proprietary technologies on Burton’s part with the styling cues of Paul Smith. The collection includes a jacket, trench and pants. Available now through Paul Smith.
