Staple Design are the masterminds behind this year’s Gravis Blackbox Collection. The timing correlated perfectly with Staple’s 10th Anniversary as they picked a theme which they felt best represented the seasonal snow and the city of New York during the winter. In addition, Staple also chose colors that gave an accurate description of the visual changes created by the falling snow. The resulting colors produced were named Fresh Powder, Wet Cement and Parking Lot. The collection features 3 pairs of sneakers, the Lodown, the Royale and the Dune. A luggage set including the Terminal Case, the Metro Backpack and the Jetway Rolling Case is also included. The collection is completed by a New Era 59Fifty fitted cap and a t-shirt.

Swedish denim brand Julian Red has combined their creative talents with footwear label Gravis to create a special collection involving the strengths from each respective brand. The Lodown sneaker has some dark yet romantic highlights in the form of a rose/asphalt pattern on the insole and heel. This same pattern was also seen within Julian Red’s 2007 Spring/Summer collection. The white leather upper sets the tone with leather laces. Moving from Gravis’ forte into the Julian Red’s domain is a pair of collaborative denim. The washed denim features an interesting reddish/pink weft. Available now at stores such as Footasylum, Dogfish, Klog, Soi77 and Schindler in the UK.
