Marked by a series of collaborations with non-traditional watch designers such as accomplished Japanese musician Koichiro Yamamoto, the projects inject new life and interest into world of watches. This particular Yamamoto designed piece is sleek in nature with an all black theme and a free-flowing and smooth shape. As part of the Citizen Alterna program, Japanese store United Arrows was given the opportunity to create a special watch with Citizen. The Citizen Alterna program involves four highly respected stores, each reinterpreting classic Citizen Eco-Drive styles. These stores include the aformentioned United Arrows, Beams, nano･universe and SHIPS. This particular United Arrows Citizen Alterna Eco Drive will retail for ￥34,650 (approximately $303 USD). The contemporary styling of the watch includes trademark Eco-Drive technology and a radio controlled function. Eco-Drive technology involves the use of solar power while the radio controlled function offers the ability to synchronize time with radio signals.
