Here’s a look into some of Vans Vault’s latest re-interpretations of their classic styles. The
Much like the Syndicate series, the Vans Vault series has gained notoriety as Vans’ launching point for some the brand’s more liberal aesthetics. 2008’s fall collection yields much of the same as select team-ups are complimented by the use of materials often seen as a rarity on Vans. One of the more interesting concepts are the use of checker dyed pony hair uppers. Look for these to start relaeasing later this summer at select Vans Vault dealers.
Before the inception of a legitimate Half-Cab from Vans, there existed the Vans Caballero. However for many, the full high-top vulcanized skate shoe left many unsatisfied with the restrictive cut… off the tops came in a DIY hackjob. This eventually prompted Vans to create the lower-cut version, Half-Cab which has become a popular seller from Vans. However, this fall will see the return of the high-top Caballero starting August 1st. Suggested price is listed at $80 USD.

With the use of polka dots manifesting itself in numerous applications over the last few seasons, Vans Vault have taken it upon themselves to utilize the pattern on their latest pack of shoes titled Melissa. The black uppers of the SK8-HI and Slip-On are both done up in white polka dots. Although not pictured here, the collection also boasts the Prison Issue #23 and the Era. Look for these at select Vans Vault dealers.
Always thinking ahead since the beginning of the Vault campaign, Vans is constantly striving for a great quality product remaining quite consistent even throughout their odd combinations of material’s and colorway’s. Included in the Grey Stone pack will be a Sk8-LX, Era LX, and Slip-on LX, all employing a blue cotton like upper to these multifaceted models. Expect the pack to hit Vans Vault dealers in late May.
