To officially kick off the three-way collaboration between sportswear giant adidas, sneaker shop UNDFTD and famed photographer Estevan Oriol, downtown Los Angeles was the venue for the opening party. Estevan Oriol was on hand to sign autographs while photos from his book and the package itself were on display. Look for the comprehensive package to hit Consortium releases soon.
Originally revealed in early December, the official release of the 1979 project will release on February 2nd. The collaborative efforts of UNDFTD, adidas and Estevan Oriol are captured through a series of products including an adidas Top Ten sneaker and book of photographs. The package looks to capture the essence of street ball and adidas’ history in basketball. The complete package will retail at Consortium dealers in February 2008 with a suggested price of $450 USD. The book on its own will release at UNDFTD and select accounts worldwide.
UNDFTD Drop 4 for their latest collection will hit American UNDFTD accounts on Thursday. Among the releases are some UNDFTD New Era 59Fifty fitted caps in Safari and Fudd styles and Uncamo crews and reversible hoodies. Check the UNDFTD’ online store for availability.
UNDFTD, often associated with sneakers, will be releasing a new t-shirt this coming Saturday. The new t-shirt which is called “Be True To Your School” Dunk tee features a perforated UNDFTD logo on the front and on the back it has a graphic which says “Every Wednesday & Saturday Be True To Your School. Dunk”. The t-shirt comes in colorways which matches the “Be True To Your School” Nike Dunks. Available at Undefeated stores on January 26th.
As part of UNDFTD’s Japan Masters Series, UNDFTD has conducted interviews with defining members of Japan’s street culture landscape. With the first interview including WTAPS and Philosophy Zine editor Tetsu Nishiyama, the latest installment includes former pro skater and Mad Hectic founder Yoppi contributing his thoughts and history. The topics range from Yoppi’s involvement as a pro skater in Japan to his progression into fashion and the changing landscape towards fixed gear bikes in Japan. The New balance collaboration with UNDFTD, Stussy and Realmad Hectic have been talked about for quite but now, they will be finally launching in the States today. There will be three MT580 sneakers included in this launch each having the name Jimmy, Freddie or Kelley. There will also be an exclusive UNDFTD t-shirt for the launch of these sneakers.
Both the tees and sneakers will be available today at Undefeated’s e-shop. If you want to get it in stores, then you’ll have a wait a bit longer.
“Scared money doesn’t make money” is a quote from an recent interview with James Bond, the co-owner of Undefeated. The store which is one of the L.A.’s best known sneaker spots has been featured in shows like The Entourage. Awhile back, news was released regarding an upcoming project between UNDFTD, adidas and photographer Estevan Oriol which featured a package inclusive of an adidas Top Ten and a photographic book containing street ball imagery. Not to bore you with details, but 2008 = Nike’s Year of the Dunk. UNDFTD will be releasing a series of Dunk t-shirts matching this years Be True To Your School Pack. Nice details with a prints reminiscent of old school mesh jerseys. New colors will release every Wednesday and Saturday until January 30th at ONEFOURTYFOURLAB.

For the fitted cap, the last few months saw an increase in the number of Elmer Fudd-like flap caps for the colder winter months. Among them are some new renditions of the UNDFTD strike through logo, which recently dropped at Dedue. Subtle colors include black and blue. Check your local UNDFTD dealer for availability.
Undefeated La Brea played host to Bring That Beat Back, an event thrown by Nike and Undefeated Radio to promote the first release this year as part of the Nike’s tribute to the Dunk in 2008. The event featured Undefeated Radio’s cast of DJ’s spinning, displays of the Be True To Your School Pack, and Japanese manga style art work incorporated into the event as a medium for the “Be True” story.

To start things off this year, Nike in conjunction with Undefeated Radio will be hosting a party at the Undefeated location in La Brea. DJ’s spinning that night will include DJ Byze One, DJ Phoreyz’s, Mr. Choc, C Minus and Shinehead. The party will take place on January 4th from 8PM to Midnight.
