With comic characters enjoying a renaissance in recent memory, New Era has put together an upcoming pack of caps themed after the big bad green monster the Hulk. The pack includes four different styles with much imagery which has become synonymous wtih the Hulk. The New Era 59FIFTY Hulk pack will release in May, right before the upcoming movie which hits box offices June 13th, 2008.
As part of a series of movie and comic book related releases, New Era initiated an Iron Man pack of caps set to release in association with the upcoming full length Iron Man movie. The pack includes some highly detailed offerings. The caps will release in April, while the movie is set to debut May 2nd, 2008.

A mainstay on the New York sports scene, filmmaker and sports fan Spike Lee has teamed up with New Era on an exclusive collection of caps. The Spike Lee Joint series will be ongoing yearly release with the first joint’s inspiration coming courtesy of the Bronx Bombers and their twenty six MLB championships. Since 1996, Spike Lee and New Era have had a strong connection resulting in different campaigns along the way. The inaugural Spike Lee Joint will release during the 2008 MLB All-Star game, taking place July 15th in New York.

Benny Gold has established a name for himself as one of the most popular designers in the streetwear industry. Having worked on many projects (most often with HUF), Benny Gold has just released a preview of some New Era caps he has been working on for Spring ‘08. These hats feature the classic pinstripe pattern but redesigned by Benny Gold. The hats will be available starting April.
Aside from their regular release of culturally relevant reading material, Frank151 have also added hot fitteds to their name with some dope cap releases in the past. This season’s 2008 Spring cap collection includes the NY Kings Blackout Series and the Frank151 exclusive Tuff Gong and Soul Assassins. The NY Kings Blackout collection (pictured) are available now while the Tuff Gong and Soul Assassins will release in the near future. The Kings Blackout collection also comes complete with a signed copy of Pete Rock’s “NY’s Finest” CD. Check the cap section of Frank151 for availability.
It looks like the San Francisco based skate shop, HUF, is currently working with footwear makers, Vans, for a new collaboration. Unfortunately there isn’t that much information other than the fact that they have chosen the Vans Chukka model for the collaboration sneaker and that there will also be a matching New Era 59Fifty Fitted Cap to go along side the shoes. Guess we’ll have just to wait and see!

Deeply related to Hawaiian culture, Sig Zane’s designs have always been concept driven with the rich culture surrounding him. With recent projects created with Kicks/HI, the two have continued their partnership with another New Era cap set to release in the coming days.

Upper Playground has prepped a new set of caps to release this month. Fans of designers and graffiti artists Sam Flores (of 12Grain), Greg “Craola” Simkins and Saber (creator of the world’s largest mural) are each treated to fitted caps bearing some of their marquee designs. The caps will release at flagship Upper Playground stores and online at Upper Playground.
Last year saw a collaboration between Marvel and New Era. This year the attention turns to DC Comics as they release their own series of New Era 59Fifty fitted caps. These caps are a more subtle approach to the comic book meets New Era project, with single logos forming the highlight of each hat. Four styles feature Batman, the Riddler, Cat Woman and Superman. These are set to release March 15th at European New Era outlets.
No need to introduce New Era, who have exploded recently with a barrage of more casual releases suited for off the field wear. Here’s a look at their slated releases for this upcoming month, Adhesive, Battle Cross, Bloated, Gold Nights, Ramsey, Runnin Jetstream, and Trippin. Available at select New Era dealers this month.
Reason recently dropped some previews this week with their New Era 59Fifty fitted caps. Three hats were released including designs inspired by a python snake which features glow in the dark eyes as well as and a back embroidered logo; a leather cap featuring black leather with silver embroidered writing across the side; and a script style hat, with Reason 3D wrapping around the length of the hat. The hats will release this Spring.

Huf is at it again with another drop of New Era fitted caps. Although the logo often remains the same, Huf has consistently been on the creative tip exploring interesting materials. This latest batch includes alligator and snake skin. Releasing this Saturday, January 26th at Huf.
