Description
Gemo Wong Jr. is the current Design Director of Energy Products at Jordan Brand, and previously Senior Designer at Nike Sportswear (NSW). Born to Gemo and Dialina Wong of Cairo, IL, Wong and his three siblings are of Chinese and Filipino descent. Wong moved out of Cairo to Chicago to study fashion at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, and worked at women’s clothing label Michael Simon in New York for 9 months after graduating. Wong then moved on to work at popular ENYCE clothing brand for three years, before working at other hip-hop apparel labels such as Phat Farm, Marithe + Francois Girbaud, and Sean John. Taking his experience in overseeing design teams to Jordan Brand in 2004, Wong was hired as Design Director. From 2008 onwards, Wong moved to the Nike Sportswear division, holding positions for Icons Footwear and Special Projects and Elements, before being transferred back to Jordan Brand in February 2013 as Design Director of Energy Products, a position which he holds presently. Wong currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Tess Matsuoka.
