Thanks to High Snobiety we have a look at a new footwear brand called Aprix, founded by Brendon Babenzien, Creative Director of Supreme and Writer/Director Michael Power. Aprix is taking a different approach than many other new sneaker brands, basing their aesthetic around trivial pursuits such as sailing and racing. Their first model, pictured here, is made of cotton and suede with a gum sole.
Brendon says “It is not meant to be a big deal and we certainly are not looking to try and make any kind of fashion statement. We are just making shoes that we like and that we think can stand the test of time. One of the most important things for us is that a customer can look back at their purchase and feel like they made a good choice, even after they have outgrown the frenetic consumerism of youth.”
Definitely a brand to look out for, Aprix plans to have 4 different shoes on the market by 2008 and is also working towards an accessory line. More photos after the jump.
