Union which has stores in both Los Angeles and New York City has recently added a new addition to the family in the form of a bigger flagship store in New York. The new store will be opened just one door down, however it’s opening will not result in the demise of the former store as it will stay open as a mini-outlet of sorts to provide customers with a final chance to purchase discounted merchandise.

A few days ago, we caught light of some new upcoming DQM fitted caps. Turns out that that was just half of the collection of New Era fitteds looking to drop as DQM’s Spring and Summer 2007 line is set to drop today, May 11th. Just a small preview of the line includes two more fitted caps in the form of a checkerboard design as well as a colored mosaic cap. Two tee’s involved in the preview depict poster styled prints.

Mash, a documentary outlining the fixed gear bike scene in and around San Francisco is a film directed by Gabe Morford and Mike Martin. The world premiere date has recently been released and will go down Saturday, June 9th at the Victoria Theater in San Francisco. With only two showings at 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm be sure to get there early if you’re in the area.

We recently gave you a heads up regarding a July 1st release of a Sportie LA New Balance 576. Here’s another interesting potential release. Details are presently hard to come by but this part patent, white/blue/yellow 576 may be another special collaboration piece in the works. The heel also has embroidered what appears to be “Made in USA”. Stay tuned for more details.

With the explosion of brands within this market, Goods (like many big in-store created brands) have done a great job of creating a line that will appeal to the masses due to it’s smart and clean looks.

Episode 2 of the Nike Air Force 1 25th Anniversary “Original 6” has recently been posted on the web. The video offers a detailed insight on the success of the Air Force 1 due to the association of the Original 6 endorsee’s. For many the Original 6 are from an era which was before our time however the video gives a great description of the attributes of each player. It is interesting to note that many of the Original 6 endorsee’s were defensive specialists. Although we all know defensive doesn’t sell tickets, this did not stop the AF1 from being the world’s most popular sneaker.

Sanrio’s 33 year old Hello Kitty has shown it’s power as an icon with various collaborations within the last few years which has included the likes of Bathing Ape, Colette and Atmos. The latest collaboration is via Jun Takahashi’s Undercover brand and certainly creates a stir with the combination of high fashion meets cartoon character. These will go on sale June 9th only at Undercover’s store in Aoyoma.

Hong Kong brand Subcrew have created a special limited edition run of 40 hats for Taiwanese artist DJ Mykal for his upcoming album, “Original Brainchild”. For those unfamiliar with DJ Mykal’s style, he creates a mix of music that transcends the lines of both culture and time with a mix of Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, House, Drum ’n Bass.
