Premiere skate brand Lakai has just dropped their 2008 Spring “Lakai Limited Footwear for Dummeez” in a format similar to those super popular For Dummies books. Broken down into seven chapters, the catalog looks at collections such as Lakai Limited Editions, The Recycled Program, What Would Carroll Do?, The French Connection, The Spring Connection and finally Apparel and Accessories. Originally started in 2001, Kaikai Kiki was the formation of a platform for a series of artists to gain exposure for new artists and further promote the exploits of established artists. Aside from events, they have made their artwork more easily accessible with tangible goods such as prints, toys and accessories. A new batch of prints have recently been released at the hnyee.store.
Japanese sneaker brand Terrem has released new colorways of their Graft 2 model. The clean and simple aesthetics (with a bit of Visvim Logan Mid interjection) are created with high quality materials. Three colorways produced include black, white and red. Available at Bostonclub.
Canadian collective BRKNHOME has released some of their latest collection of t-shirts. Always on the innovative tip, they’ve consistently produced a solid range of t-shirts under a carefree attitude which enables their creative minds to roam free. Currently available at Edmonton based retailer Haven.
Converse is blowing out 100 candles this year and to mark the event, they’ve released some models incorporating some current day styles over footwear taken from their extensive catalog of sneakers. For their 2008 Spring/Summer releases, look for the rarely seen Jack Purcell Mid in snake leather (based on a 1999 release), the All-Star Digilog Hi (based on a contemporary art collection from 1988), All-Star Asymmetry Hi (based on a 2000 release), All-Star Two Strap Shin-Hi (based on a laceless 2001 Chuck Two Strap) and ST Viphop Hi, an inspiration from the 1984 performance model Star Tech Hi.
