If you’ve ever ventured into Hong Kong for more then a few days, Octopus Cards are pretty much standard fare. The rechargeable cards allow you to pay for anything from mass transportation to groceries and corner store products all via touchless radio waves. TK of SiLLY THING was on hand to design a special Octopus card in association with Radio 903’s Skyhigh Charity program. A whole list of collaborators can be seen here. According to DNR, the streetwear label that been around since the beginning will be opening several new stores in North America coming this year. Stussy has just recently opened their new Hawaii stores in Honolulu and will be opening stores in Washington DC, Las Vegas and Toronto. The Washington DC store will be a partnership with Commonwealth owner, Omar Quiambao. The Las Vegas store will be part owned by no other than Eddie Cruz, one of the founders of Undefeated. The footwear brand Clae enjoyed a great year last year. Everyone seemingly was talking about the footwear brand and how it came in at the right time providing folks an alternative to the crazy colorways other footwear brands were making. The latest from the Clae camp are these low cut Whitmans which give off a hi-end vibe without the hi-end prices ($90 USD).
Indonesian artist and designer Darbotz was among the artists selected to participate in an exhibition between Medicom Toy & Nike Windrunner. Special personalities were given a blank 400% Bearbrick as a canvas to work their creative skills. This is Darbotz’s particular creation and features some of the artist’s personal touches reminiscent of his trademark work.
Hikaru Otani’s Bootleg Booth is a simplistic and more casual style relative his higher end designs seen within his sister brand Xescape. Seen here are some accessories such as Nintendo DS cases, belts, wallets and messenger bags from the Japanese label. Available at select Bootleg Booth dealers.
Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse underwent the camo treatment which resulted in this special plush toy. Unlike the modern version of Mickey Mouse, this Bape release is based off of the original version of Mickey Mouse rather than the roundish more friendly contemporary style.
