For Nike’s Dunk this year, various functions and releases will be going down in celebration of a sneaker which has transcended countless subcultures to become relevant amongst a large group of the youth. To track any upcoming events and showcase Dunk related information, Nike set up the Be True website. The newly launched site is currently limited in its function, however I’m sure Dunk fans would like to see an extensive encyclopedia of Dunk’s much like the counterpart AF1 site.
The latest from Supra has released in the form of the Comakazi Skytop. With a similarities to the Brooklyn Projects x Supra Skytops, the Comakazi features a black/red/zebra print upper. Available now through Karmaloop and other select Supra dealers with a suggested price tag of $115 USD.
New to Bape’s collection of footwear for the 2008 Spring/Summer Collection is the Bapesta 88. The high top 88 model includes a stitched leather upper with a safari-esque print. Bape’s shooting star logo can be seen along the back of the heel. Available now at Bape retailers.

To help promote Lupe Fiasco’s sophomore album The Cool, Singaporean brand False teamed up to produce a special collaboration t-shirt as part of False’s latest collection. Each of False’s prints are silkscreened by hand to ensure a unique and quality product. Available now through Boundless.
Japanese photographer Yasumasa “Yone” Yonehara teamed up with condom brand sagamai original 0.02 in a campaign to promote safe sex and sagamai original’s 0.02 mm thick prophylactics. The characteristic semi-erotic styles of Yone are put to use over several posters seen here. Yone’s previous accolades include work with Upper Playground and the founder of Egg Magazine.

Goodenough UK employed the services of German bag makers Bagjack to create a collection of bags and accessories. Regardless of your need, the releases cover a variety of everyday uses with cellphone holders, tote bags, messenger bags and a small pack bag. Each bag is constructed of nylon and leather. US based Kidrobot has developed a strong allegiance of fans with their releases of limited edition art and apparel. Ten pieces of their arts and toys were chosen as part of the Museum of Modern Art’s “Just In: Recent Acquisitions from the Collection”. Among the included toys are “Hello My Name is Dunny”, “Bad Dunny”, “MUNNY 3” as well as a selection of seven paintings by the likes of Deph, Cycle, Thomas Han, Kenzo Minami, Doma, Tilt and Frank Kozik.

On deck from adidas Originals are a collection of vintage models designed by adidas Skate marquee athlete Mark Gonzales and artist Andrew Pommier. Each Mark Gonzales and Pommier both designed a Superstar Vulcanized while a further Superskate Vulcanized designed by Gonzales will also release.

The devastatingly simple design of the Clear Box by Japanese artist Nao has become a popular commodity among sneaker fans alike. His original product was well received and resulted in collaborations with Sold Out and most recently Nort. For the upcoming release of the 2008 Be True To Your School Dunks, Nort teamed up with Nike and Nao to produce a special clearbox. The box will not be available for sale, instead the first 30 customers to purchase Nike Vintage products (i.e. BTTYS Dunks) will be given a box for free. Alternative methods include a raffle via Sneaker TV.

New month, new year, here’s what’s on tap this month from Nike Skateboarding for the month of January 2008. Among the releases are metallic silver Blazers (designed by Independant Truck Co.) which represents a set of skate trucks to keep things consistent with Nike’s deck theme, Gibson Guitar Case Dunk Lows, Boca Zoom Tres, P-rod IIs and Zoom Air Abbingtons.
