Yohji Yamamoto isn’t slowing down anytime soon. At age 77, the iconic designer is still building excitement for himself and the industry he’s shaped since debuting in 1977. Part of that newfound energy stems from the new partnerships he’s build to win-over fans. The biggest team-up for one, was the release of the Supreme x Yohji Yamamoto collection. While it came out of left field to some, industry insiders already knew the move would happen just a matter of time. The capsule consisted of leather jackets, tees, knits, sweats, suiting and other outerwear designs emblazoned with Yamamoto’s signature graphics. Both the brands’ logos also appear on some of the products which quickly sold out when released.

A Lamborghini partnership also happened just less than a month after the Supreme drop. The car, an Aventador S featured an elegant, camo-like pattern in red and black. The sleek design of the ride also coincided with an apparel line consisting of outerwear and hoodies. Elsewhere, Yamamoto had strong collaborative drops alongside New Era, footwear brand xVESSEL and Hublot. The designer’s Y-3 line with adidas and his online shop S’YTE continued to grow and offer more choice pieces as an extension of the pricier Yamamoto main line.
