Feng Chen Wang makes the HB100 list for the first time for continuing to push boundaries within the menswear space through the lens of her namesake brand. Wang further delved into her Chinese heritage through Feng Chen Wang’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection, which expanded upon the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection that explored the phrase “Made in China.” Following a 501-themed collaboration in 2018, Wang continued her relationship with Levi’s this year through the release of a firework-themed SS19 collection. The London-based designer reworked the American heritage brand’s iconic denim into deconstructed pieces with firework motifs embroidered throughout. Additionally, Wang collaborated with Converse on a clothing capsule and a new, deconstructed Chuck ‘70 design, marking her second time working with the brand. This year, Wang was also named a Woolmark Prize 2019 finalist.
