Designer Chitose Abe’s label sacai was hard to ignore this 2019, largely because of its partnership with Nike that saw various releases of the Nike LDV Waffle Daybreak and the Blazer High. However, strip away the ultra-hyped sneaker drops and sacai still had a pretty monumental year with its continued quality output of clothing and well-thought-out collabs — there are the artful partnerships with Dr. Woo and Jackson Pollock Studios as well as the technologically driven drop for a set of headphones with Beats by Dre. Chitose Abe’s 2019 will be a hard act to follow but we’re sure that the queen of deconstruction has more up her sleeve in 2020.
