Throughout 2018, fashion crowds were roused by fever pitch to the sight of Y/Project’s seasonal lineups and it’s all thanks to the design ingenuity brought forth by the brand’s creative director, Glenn Martens. Although he’s not the first to merge high- and low-fashion looks, Martens championed a cockamamie yet sophisticated approach for this year’s collections. His transient knowledge of the style genres was also recognized by Pitti Uomo who elected Martens as the first guest designer for the event’s Fall/Winter 2019 schedule. From injecting a unique spin on menswear for Diesel’s Red Tag Project to shocking the fashion masses with unconventional boots with UGG, Y/Project under Martens continues to challenge the industry’s norms.
