Hirofumi Kiyonaga celebrated 20 years of SOPH. in 2018, simultaneously issuing a slew of gear through his multitude of brands; uniform experiment, SOPHNET and F.C.R.B. all served up seasonal collections this year. Collaborations with Vans, Belstaff, Converse, Schott and Fruit of the Loom rounded out SOPHNET’s offerings throughout the year, along with a selection of gear dubbed “SOPH 2.0,” which served to commemorate Kiyonaga’s two decades in the game. Meanwhile, uniform experiment delivered even more star-studded BE@RBRICK figures, while F.C.R.B tapped mastermind WORLD and fragment design for HYPEFEST exclusives, along with collaborative Peanuts gear and G-SHOCK timepieces. Kiyonaga even introduced his own consultancy practice, Kiyonaga & Co., which began work on a rideshare service, delivered exclusives for Hiroshi Fujiwara’s THE CONVENI and collaborated with Japanese eyewear label KANEKO OPTICAL.
