With their work rapidly reaching a wide audience and the opening of a brand new concept shop in Hong Kong, Neighborhood has teamed up with British retailer Hideout on their 10th Anniversary. The project features two different t-shirts designs. Hideout has maintained a strong pedigree as the purveyor of high quality brands throughout its 10 year existence with a current roster including Supreme, WTAPS, Neighborhood, PAM and Goodenough among others.

Within the next few hours, two influential members of the Japanese fashion world, Tetsu Nishiyama of WTAPS and Shinsuke Takizawa of Neighborhood will open the doors to their Hoods venture. Hoods will act as a haven for both Neighborhood and WTAPS products as both brands establish themselves in their first venture outside of Japan. We recently had a chance to check out the space occupying a spot on the quaint little On Lan Street in Hong Kong’s Central district. The store, much like the surrounding spaces are long and narrow and encompass multiple floors and provides a sort of equilibrium effect with its immediate neighbors BBC | Ice Cream. A special exhibition involving custom tees is on display as part of the Previously Opening Exhibition taking place tomorrow until the stores opening April 1st. Currently the only items for sale include the Hoods Hong Kong “Bombers” t-shirt, retailing for $499 HKD (approximately $64 USD).
Here’s an in-depth look at the t-shirts set to release tomorrow as part of the Hoods Hong Kong grand opening. The collaborative t-shirt is co-created by both Neighborhood and WTAPS including a rarely seen double flag on the sleeve. The t-shirt will retail for $499 HKD (approximately $64 USD) and will be available in both white or black. The Previously Open Gallery showing will commence at 11:00 am, Saturday March 8th with a ceremonial door opening including Tetsu Nishiyama and Shinsuke Takizawa.
Here’s a look at the upcoming Hoods Hong Kong grand opening shirts which will release on Saturday, March 8th at the brand new Neighborhood flagship shop in Hong Kong. Prior to the official April 1st opening, the retail space will serve as a gallery curated by both Tets of WTAPS and Shinsuke Takizawa of NBHD.

Neighborhood looks to Hong Kong as the setting for its latest Hoods flagship store. An exhibition titled Previously Opening will commence prior to the opening on March 8th and will conclude on the 24th. For both Neighborhood and WTAPS, their existence and popularity all started on the simple t-shirt and this will represent the desired medium for both brands to introduce their concept and themes to the Hong Kong public. Previously Opening will also be the first show featured outside of Japan for both Tetsu Nishiyama (WTAPS) and Shinsuke Takizawa (Neighborhood). Look for an official NBHD x WTAPS Bombers t-shirt to be available at the exhibition. Hoods is set to open next door to BBC | Ice Cream and will officially open April 1st, 2008.

With each season from Neighborhood presenting a strong conceptual basis to their designs, the 2008 Spring/Summer collection is no different. Their 1st Ex Series Delta collection includes partnerships with guitar makers C.F. Martin who were former German immigrants in a small side collection of guitar inspired products. There other products include workwear and denim. Available now at Cliffedge.
The Japanese motorcycle inspired brand, Neighborhood, has released a Skull & Bones Incense Holder as part of their 2008 Delta collection. While this incense holder might look really cool, it lacks the ability to catch the ashes falling from your incenses thus creating a mess. Nevertheless, it does look really nice so if you don’t mind cleaning up after burning each and every incense, this might be for you. Available now at Cliffedge.
Pieces from Japanese brand Neighborhood’s latest 2008 Spring 1st Ex Series Delta has released. Inspired in part by the Mississippi aesthetic as well as its usual workwear inspirations, the products seen here feature their popular denim, t-shirts, button-ups and accessories including beanies and belts. Available now at Cliffedge.
In Neighborhood’s 2008 Spring/Summer collection, 1st Ex Series Delta, among the marquee items in this young collection’s infancy is a collaboration with popular workwear and boot purveyors Red Wings. The boots feature black suede construction with white contrast stitching. A special make up label is seen on the tongue. Available now at Cliffedge.
With a strong allegiance to motorcycle culture, the Harajuku Neighborhood Store will be the setting for an exhibition of motorbikes, creating the Custom Cycle Division. Definitely something to check out for NBHD and bike enthusiasts alike.
For The Hideout’s upcoming 10th year anniversary, the UK boutique has teamed up with Japanese street label Neighborhood for a stud jacket. Currently there is only a look at the patches on the jackets but according to Andrew Bunney from The Hideout, “the jacket has a similar spirit to the carefully hand-worked Biker jackets seen in the UK from the 1950’s.” These jackets along with some t-shirts will be available in the near future.
