HEAD PORTER is a Japanese luggage company that was established by Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, under the Porter brand. This imprint was aimed at offering stylish accessories that were still functional and high quality like the Porter items. The brand also includes a line of silver accessories and jewelry. HEAD PORTER currently has three stores: the Harajuku Flagship Store (Tokyo), -atelier- Head Porter (Tokyo), Head Porter Loft (Kyoto), and HEAD PORTER. As the more fashionable and stylish arm of the Porter brand, HEAD PORTER has collaborated with some notable names in the fashion industry, creating highly coveted collections and pieces. Such collaborations include Marni, atmos, fragment design and more.
It is owned by Porter’s parent company, YOSHIDA KABAN. HEAD PORTER has a history of producing quality products with unique original designs that are functional. Celebrated collections include the “TANKER NAVY” series (specially requested by YOSHIDA KABAN), as well as the “BLACK BEAUTY” series, which is constructed from refined matte black materials.

Japanese bag and accessories maker Head Porter and its clothing affiliate Head Porter Plus recently ran an exhibition outlining their upcoming products for future seasons. From a bag perspective, it appears as though some striped collections are in the works which also include some matching apparel. Another look reveals what could potentially be Head Porter luggage. It appears as though an Original Fake collaboration with Japanese accessories maker Head Porter is in the works. This first look showcases the trademark Chomper imagery as it runs the length of a zipper. No other photographs are available but by the looks of things it appears as though a messenger bag is the basis for this design. Look for this bag to release in the very near future.
It’s undeniable the strong relationship the Nike Air Force 1 has shared with music and DJs in the past. As part of the continued festivities of the Nike Air Force 1 25th Anniversity, Rane joined forces to create the Air Force 1 and Scratch Live Package. This cross-branded project signifies the intersection of sports, music and innovation within hip-hop culture.
Much like the debut of the Air Force 1 in 1982, Rane’s Serato Scratch Live has produced a revolutionary product. DJs around the world can now avoid lugging around huge crates of vinyl in favor of a laptop, all while using vinyl control records on their turntables to control their digital music files.
Another integral part of the package is the inclusion of a special Head Porter custom-made DJ bag. The DJ bag allows for the transportation of a laptop, the Scratch Live units and accessories. The bag’s upper is constructed of white ballistic nylon with Nike markings and the sole of the AF1 on the bottom of the bag. This special package was created in limited numbers for leading DJs around the world.
The Head Porter series of products has developed a strong cult following as a result of their quality products. The hnyee.store recently updated their store to reflect the latest from the Master Navy Collection. The dark navy blue color can be seen across a series of bags and wallets such as the Boston Bag, Day Pack and Coin Wallet. Available now at the hnyee.store.
Serato Audio Research is a company that creates soft and hardware for DJ’s around the world and is best known for their Scratch Live and Pitch N’ Time programs. With the Air Force 1 sneaker deeply connected to music, Nike has teamed up with Serato and Head Porter for a special three way collaboration. Releasing this month will be a special Serato x Nike Air Force 1 as well as a Serato x Head Porter DJ bag. Unforutnately, most probably won’t get their hands on these as they will be given to selected DJ’s only.

In conjunction with the release of honyee.mag vol.2 (a Japanese magazine curated by Hiroshi Fujiwara), several special items will be released. These limited items include two t-shirts by NEIGHBORHOOD, a wool V neck knit and a lamb wool knit cap by SOPHNET. In addition, fragment design will make a strap and HEAD PORTER will create stylist bags for honeyee.com. The items will be exclusively sold at the hnyee.Store starting October 9th, 2007 for the NEIGHBORHOOD tees. The SOPHNET. items will be available on October 16th while the fragment and HEAD PORTER items will be on sale on October 23rd.
