Summary
- A new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Oydssey has been released
- The visual gives audiences a closer look at the upcoming epic, which stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, and more
Universal Pictures has debuted a brand new trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming epic, The Odyssey.
Rather than relying heavily on CGI to render the epic’s legendary creatures and environments, the filmmaker actively sought to embrace the physicality of the real world. The newly released trailer highlights this practical approach, showcasing Matt Damon’s Odysseus floating in open water following the 10-year Trojan War and retelling his story to Charlize Theron’s Calypso. Determined to make his way back to Ithaca to reclaim his throne and reunite with his family, the legendary Greek King is seen battling everything and everyone including the cyclops Polyphemus, what looks to be the giant Laestrygonians, and deadly waters.
Back home, Robert Pattinson’s villainous Antinous is attempting to seize the Ithacan throne. Odysseus’ wife Penelope, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, and their son Telemachus, played by Tom Holland, remain hopeful of Odysseus’ return, and refuse to give up the throne to Antinous.
Also joining the star-studded cast are Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Travis Scott, and more.
