Prada Frames returns for its fourth edition with In Transit, a thought-provoking exhibit held in parallel with Milan’s Salone del Mobile. Curated by acclaimed design and research studio Formafantasma, the 2025 event continues the initiative’s mission to spark cross-disciplinary dialogue at the intersection of design, culture and society.

This year’s theme, In Transit, presents an exploration of infrastructure as a powerful force shaping movement — of people, goods, data and power. From the internet to global logistics systems, the exhibit dissects how mobility intersects with digital transformation, environmental concerns and societal inequalities, highlighting the contradictions in a world where goods flow freely but people do not.

Conversations will unfold in two venues: the Padiglione Reale at Milan’s Central Station and aboard the restored 1950s Arlecchino train, originally designed by Gio Ponti and Giulio Minoletti. Both spaces serve as symbolic backdrops — architectural icons that question the systems of mobility and societal structure they once upheld.

A stellar lineup of speakers facilitated by design critic Alice Rawsthorn includes Paola Antonelli, Kate Crawford, Metahaven, Hito Steyerl and Samia Henni, among others, each offering unique insights into the global landscape of hypermobility and infrastructure. Admission to Prada Frames In Transit is free with registration starting March 31 via Prada’s official site, with attendance granted based on availability.
