The Smiths’ House Is Under Attack in the Latest ‘Rick and Morty: The Anime’ Teaser
Including appearances of Space Beth and an alternate Jerry Smith.
Adult Swim has dropped a new teaser viewer for Rick and Morty: The Anime, offering a sneak peek at the events of the highly anticipated spinoff of Dan Harmon’s original show.
The last teaser provided a glimpse into one of the anime’s settings, where Morty becomes a hero of a foreign planet after striking down the invading alien spacecraft.
This time around, the teaser brings the viewers to a familiar location – the Smith’s house – where a crew of MIB-like agents charges into the family home with firearms and katana swords. As they break into the house, we see a heroic figure fighting back. The person, dressed in a skin-tight superhero-like bodysuit and wielding a large sword turns out to be Jerry Smith, thus painting a refreshing image of Morty’s father. Cheering him on is Summer, who appears to be standing next to Space Beth, the alternate version of her mother, who instructs Summer and regular Beth to fetch weapons in the basement.
The anime is set to premiere on Adult Swim and Max later in the year. In the meantime, watch the new teaser above. At the time of writing, an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
