In collaboration with textile artist Jessica Ogden, A.P.C. continues its reuse initiative, which upcycles fabrics from the brand’s previous collections to craft one-of-a-kind handmade quilts.

For the 26th installment of the ongoing project, Ogden and A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou resume their joint exploration of unconventional quilt styles by delving into the unique hues and patterns in butterfly wings. The collection is subdivided into seven groups aligning with natural butterfly color palettes and each model name reflects specific butterfly species.

The tropical campaign imagery transposes the quilted bedspreads and cushions into photographs of Jamaica, where Ogden’s family put down roots for work in the late 60s. At the time Ogden’s grandmother had illustrated a series of greeting cards featuring butterflies for the community-centered organization her mother worked with. It was this personal story that served as the foundation for the new line-up.

Throughout the collection, the abstracted shapes of butterflies can be deciphered through the geometric quilting patterns. Each color palette has a distinct feel with one group comprising toned-down neutrals, and another group made out of contrasting shades of blue and floral patterns while elsewhere, a greyscale color palette is accented with a bold touch of red.

Round 26 of A.P.C.’s Jessica Ogden Quilt Collection is available now on A.P.C.’s web store and at the brand’s physical stores.
