EA and Marvel Are Making a Single-Player ‘Black Panther’ Game
Being developed by EA’s new Cliffhanger studio.

EA has joined forces with Marvel to develop a new game for the Black Panther franchise. Currently in the works at EA’s new Cliffhanger studio, the game is a third-person, single-player project that sees the studio work directly with Marvel Games “to ensure that we craft every aspect of Wakanda, its technology, its heroes, and our own original story with the attention to detail and authenticity that the world of Black Panther deserves.”
This isn’t the only Marvel adaptation EA has underway. Last year, the company announced that it had struck a multi-year deal with Marvel to transform some of its franchises into games. Currently, EA is also working on Iron Man titles, though that project is reportedly years away from being finished.
As for the Black Panther game, EA and Marvel say they’re aiming to build an “expansive and reactive” that empowers players to game as the namesake character.
“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game,” said Kevin Stephens, who is helming the game’s development. “Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.”
In other gaming news, a Texas Chainsaw Massacre tabletop game is releasing this fall.
