Demna Gvasalia Becomes UNITED24 Ambassador, Releases Balenciaga Charity T-Shirt
100% of net profits will be donated to the exclusively humanitarian Rebuild Ukraine Direction.
Building on his continued support of Ukraine, Balenciaga Artistic Director, Demna Gvasalia, has now been named ambassador of UNITED24. UNITED24 was launched by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and serves as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of the nation.
Living through the trauma of being a refugee, the decision to become an ambassador was personal for Demna. “It is an honor for me to become an ambassador for the UNITED24 platform,” he shared. “I know and feel the pain that the Ukrainians are going through very well. I thought a lot about how I can help Ukraine and all the refugees who want to come back home. That’s why I chose to focus on the humanitarian Rebuild Ukraine Direction and its cause. The special Balenciaga T-shirt will become sort of a messenger.”
President Zelenskyy personally thanked Demna for his commitment, “Thank you for your support, it is very valuable,” said Zelenskyy. “It’s crucial that we keep the world’s focus on Ukraine to help rebuild our country.”
To mark his ambassador endeavor, Demna Gvasalia and Balenciaga designed a special T-shirt with 100% of net profits will be donated to the exclusively humanitarian Rebuild Ukraine Direction. The direction focuses on the renovation of critical infrastructure facilities such as roads, bridges, hospitals and schools to enable refugees to come back to their homes and restart their lives.
The long sleeve 100 percent organic vintage cotton unisex “Balenciaga Charity T-Shirt” features a medium fit with prints on the front, back, and sleeves. Graphics include a “Glory to Ukraine” print, the Ukrainian flag, the Ukrainian coat of arms, and a QR code that allows donating via UNITED24.
